The National Association of Women in Construction believes that it is their responsibility to enhance the success of women in the construction industry, to reach out to its members as well as the community to educate and expose both men and women to exciting careers in construction.
The Loraine Nichols Memorial Fund – Spokane NAWIC, was founded in 1998 to administer construction related scholarships to local Spokane youths. A Board of Trustees annually reviews local trade schools and vocational training centers that offer construction related programs for needed funding.
The Trustees also work with NAWIC’s national scholarship program, NAWIC Founders Scholarship Foundation (NFSF) for individual applicants for college and individual trade programs. Applicants must be pursuing an education and career in a construction related field. Programs may include architecture, construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, trade schools, etc.
